First Rock concert

May 14, 1965 “Boss of the Bay,” KYA presents the Rolling Stones, the Byrds, Beau Brummels, Paul Revere and the Raiders, and the Vejtables, at Civic Auditorium. San Francisco My   parents took me to the concert and dropped me off,   I went in alone.   The Byrds were great,   but with the stones, all I could hear was screaming kids.   I wanted to listen to the music.   Things haven't changed that much I still want to listen to the music. June 24, 1967 The second concert I went to 1967.  A Fact, But on the night I went  Opening for  Jefferson Air planer was Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis Joplin Opening for Jimi. Grace had a sore throat or something.  I went on a Friday or Saturday.  Saw Pigpen there, It was a magical evening and Jimi was fantastic…. But so was everything. Janis   was 1000% present, and everyone was present.  It was my introduction to what a total sensory experience could be....

"Duplicitous Twit 45-5/19" planographic monoprint w/hand coloring Made this print while thinking about Trump the meaning of the word Twit, I wonder if that relates to what was being thought about when Twitter was developed. + all of its synonyms that relate look it up..., And the definition of duplicity.   I know making art doesn't change things, voting does and taking action does. But making makes me feel better for the moment. 

The beauty of found music.

I had jury duty today but wasn't selected, I went out to get on my bike to ride home and  I heard this sweet sound, at first I thought it was an outdoor speaker with some kind of ambient tune playing, no speaker that I could see.  So now my curiosity is piqued.   next to the bike was a concrete pylon and a one-way street sign. A strong wind was blowing from the north and because of the way the sign was constructed and placed it made a soft gentle modulated whistle as the wind blew past the fasteners, pole, and sign.  It was sublime. I think John Cage would have swooned. but I didn't have a recorder, so I stayed a bit and enjoyed the music.  Below is a print i just completed. A new series in the making.
